I’m attempting to combine my old posts in a new post in an effort to keep readers on my site. But I’m concerned — is it possible to do too much? Is there a limit to the quantity of internal links that Google is “safe” for it or can I do everything I want?
There isn’t a magic number, but I generally prefer to keep my links in the range of 3-5 per 1,000 words. The one rule I always follow is, “Does this link really help the reader?” If it sounds forced, or just looks like a wall of blue links, it probably is too much. Just let it be natural and related to the subject.
