Do small blogs really need to worry about page speed?

My blog is tiny, and doesn’t get a lot of traffic yet. I did notice that it’s a little bit slow to load up on mobile. Do I work on speed now or it better to wait until I get more content and traffic?

Honestly, fix it now. Google adores fast sites, and human beings even more so. If a page is going to load for more than 3 seconds, people will simply drop off before reading your first sentence. Small sites can be optimized much more easily implementing best practices now than big ones later!
